Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt Replay the Myth of Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid

A reinterpretation of Sam Peckinpah’s classic by Vincent D’Onofrio.

The figure of Billy The Kid fascinated the cinema, from Arthur Penn to Sam Peckinpah. Vincent of Onofrio (Wilson Fisk in Daredevil) passes behind the camera to tell the incredible life of the Wild West terror. For this trip in the saloons, the interpreter of “Gomer Pyle” ( Full Metal Jacket ) calls on Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt, with whom he had already shared the screen in The 7 mercenaries . Ethan Hawke will play sheriff Pat Garrett, famous for killing Billy the Kid (Dane DeHaan) with a bullet in his heart at Fort Sumner. As for Pratt, he will play the abusive uncle of young Rio (Jake Schur) who found refuge with the charismatic bandit. Colts are drawn in this enticing trailer.

The myth about the young outlaw shot at only 21 years of age inspired dozens of films, the most famous of which remain Le Gaucher with Paul Newman in the title role and Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid, where Kris Kristofferson played the thug. . Bob Dylan, chosen to compose the soundtrack of the classic Peckinpah (whose cult hit Knockin ‘on Heaven’s Door was shot), even stole a role in the film as Alias, a little hoodlum in the Kid’s pay. Vincent D’Onofrio’s film has no release date at the moment.
